The Phone – the first model – runs on 3G, which is no longer supported in many countries.

Startphone Certification
To be Startphone-certified, The Phone+ must allow only pre-approved contacts to call or text the child.
Currently, it is possible to block unwanted numbers.
The Story
The Phone, from France, was founded in 2023 by Maïlys and her then-15-year-old son Viktor, to give children a safe, distraction-free way to stay connected.
The idea was born when Viktor’s younger brother needed a healthier alternative to a smartphone. The family saw the negative impact the device had on him – which he got to get to and from practice – and decided to create the product they wished already existed on the market.
