Voice Messages Only
KARRI is unique in offering screen-free communication for children.
- Voice-message parent-approved contacts only
- Enable GPS location tracking and Safe Zones via the parental app
- Works globally, without geographic limitations
- Can currently be ordered to EU, UK and North America
- Is available in black/pink, black/green and black/blue

It’s Safe Because
KARRI has:
- No screen
- No camera
- No internet browsing
- No app installation capability
- No e-mail access
- No games
- No encrypted chats
- No social media
The Voice Messenger
KARRI offers both KARRI-to-app as well as KARRI-to-KARRI voice messaging. This means, for parents, the parental app is used to send and receive voice-messages with your child’s KARRI. Your child can also message other friends with KARRI-direct (after your approval.)

No Open Internet Access
Since the KARRI messenger is designed for safe, screen-free communication, its connectivity is focused solely on sending/receiving voice messages, sharing GPS location data, and communicating with the parental app – it does not allow open internet browsing or social media access.
How KARRI Connects
The KARRI device connects to the internet using two primary methods to ensure reliable connectivity:
- Mobile Data (3G, 4G, 5G/LTE): KARRI comes with a built-in SIM card (included with the subscription). It uses this SIM to connect to mobile data networks (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, and LTE), similar to a regular phone.
- Wi-Fi: The device also supports connecting to Wi-Fi networks. Parents can set up and manage these Wi-Fi connections remotely using the parental app.

Startphone Certification
KARRI is Startphone-certified since December 2025.
The Story
KARRI was founded in Berlin in 2023 by British Pete, who wanted to give his son more freedom and independence.
”Parents should delay children’s entry into round‑the‑clock internet access by giving only basic phones … Let kids get through the most vulnerable period of brain development before connecting them to a firehose of social comparison and algorithmically chosen influencers.”
