The Story
Anio was founded in Germany in 2016 by pilots and fathers Michel and Mark. At the time, Michel’s daughter was seven, and he couldn’t find any product on the market that met the standards he wanted for his child.
Anio envision a childhood where children have thoughtful and limited access to smartphones and tablets – an approach that inspired their minimalistic smartwatch for kids.
”Parents should delay children’s entry into round‑the‑clock internet access by giving only basic phones … Let kids get through the most vulnerable period of brain development before connecting them to a firehose of social comparison and algorithmically chosen influencers.”
